The Rev. Dr. Howard Thurman wrote, “The only refuge for a person is in another person’s heart. Therefore I must make of my heart a swinging door.” Today we celebrate this meetinghouse, the UU Society of New Haven, which is a refuge for healing and a crucible of connection and courage. We reaffirm our commitment to its thriving, by offering our gifts of time, talent and treasure.
