Hope, possibility, and healing in caring community

Hope is considered by many to be essential, instilling within ourselves and others a sense of possibility, of better things to come: more meaning, more understanding, more solace, more joy. But as American psychologist and Buddhist teacher Tara Brach notes, if we tie hope to specific desires or outcomes, it can, set us up for disappointment, opening us up to “the shadow side of fear.” This service will be a combination of readings by an array of, psychologists, and spiritual leaders, including Eckhart Tolle, Tara Brach, and Jon Bernie; and poetry and personal reflections by USNH members.
