The annual multi-generational Flower Communion Service offered by the Worship Committee and Staff of USNH. Even in the most chaotic of times, flowers bloom. In the midst of war zones, flowers bloom. Concrete and asphalt cannot stop them, they just push through the cracks. So it is with community. While we will be unable to bring an exchange of physical flowers to our altar in the Sanctuary, we will bring virtual blossoms of love, hope and community to a myriad of altars across the widespread network that is USNH. You have by this point received “Seven Principles Seed Paper” (literally paper in a shape that represents one principal, infused with wildflower seeds) in the mail. During this annual celebration of Community, and the closing of our shared ministry with Rev. John Marsh, you will be invited into an at-home ritual of flower planting (please soak your seed paper overnight, and have a planter ready prior to the service). Together, we will prove that community is so much more than sharing physical space, and that we won’t be paved over by the challenges of the today. Tomorrow, we bloom.
