“Spooky Action at a Distance” Sunny’s Last Sermon

In the 1930s, Albert Einstein first theorized about quantum entanglement. In the 1960s, scientists were able to demonstrate it in an experimental way. As Dr. Lisa Miller explains it, “entanglement happens when particles become so intimately correlated that what occurs for one co-occurs for the other, even across vast distances—as far as light-years apart.” This is a fancy way of saying that particles, even when separated, remain connected. Einstein called it “spooky action at a distance.” While my time at USNH is winding down, and my move back to Seattle is fast approaching, this sermon will be a reminder that, although we may be separated in the weeks to come, we will remain connected through our own “spooky action at a distance.”
