An interesting fact–Martin Luther King Day and Inaugural Day are the same Monday. Quite a combination! The extreme poles of American experience will be on forceful display, and so I want to take a page out of a new best-seller called “The Small and the Mighty” to offer a message of hope on how to cope–the next four years will be a stern test for all of us (even those who voted for it), and luckily our history gives us lessons on how to answer the call of decency and democratic equality. We have been here before–now it is time to remember what we did to survive and to further the Dream.
