Community and Caring
At USNH, we show up for one another in joy and in need, listen across differences, and build relationships grounded in trust and care.
Ours is a multigenerational community where people of all ages learn, grow, and laugh together — finding belonging, growing spiritually, and putting shared values into action within our congregation and beyond.

Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care provides compassionate support for members and friends facing crises, transitions, and life’s challenges. Through attentive listening and presence, our team helps individuals navigate what can—and cannot—be changed, offering encouragement and comfort in times of pain, loss, anxiety, struggle, and joy.
For support, please email pastoralcare@usnh.org or call the USNH office at 203-288-1807 x201.
“I will always be grateful for the loving-kindness shown to me and my family in our time of crisis.”
- Aimee B.
Find Your Place at USNH
We invite you to explore the many ways that you can get to know folks at USNH. Some groups focus on spiritual and creative life pursuits, while others are more social. All offer opportunities to deepen relationships and connections.
“USNH is part of the fabric of my life.”
- Kathy G.
Spiritual and Creative Life
Small Group Ministry (SGM) offers a more personal way to explore spirituality and connect with others seeking meaning and understanding. Both newcomers and long-time congregants find SGM a great way to get to know a smaller group of people more deeply.
“This was the first way I got meaningfully connected to others at USNH. Small Group Ministry brought the values of Unitarian Universalism into sharp focus for me.”

Many of the opportunities to be in community with others are through our important social justice work where we provide opportunities to take action on issues such as racial justice, tutoring children, feeding the hungry, working to protect our democracy, advocating for gun violence prevention, and more.
